Davy says that if you’re using liquid or cream eyeshadow, you really don’t need to do much to keep it long. In fact, she says that with a good long-wearing formula, you don’t even need a primer or setting spray to make it stick. “If you’re using a powder eye shadow, be sure to use an eye primer and keep applying multiple layers of color until you’re satisfied with the intensity of the color,” says Davy. “Finish with a nourishing spray to add vitality and keep the look vibrant all day.”
If you’re using a powder eyeshadow and it’s not as pigmented as you’d like, don’t worry — there’s an easy fix. “Use a white long-wearing liquid eyeshadow as a base,” says Davy. “Pack this blend along your lash line and then diffuse it outwards by blending to your brow bone. When you blend over the brow bone, the white looks super.” Just make sure the white is completely dry before you put any color on top, or you’ll end up with a pastel version of the color you’re placing on top.
