3 people hospitalized after driving SUV into gas station building


HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) – An SUV drove into a gas station building on Saturday, police said.

According to the Hartford Fire Department, the crash happened at a Shell gas station on Capitol Avenue and Broad Street.

Initial reports said the SUV jumped onto the curb and entered the building.

Three people were taken to the hospital because their injuries were not life-threatening. Store employees were transported to the hospital after they were hit in the head by falling debris. The driver and a passenger were taken to hospital for evaluation.

Officials are inspecting the building for structural damage.

Police said they are currently investigating the crash as a medical incident.
