Adele doubles down on her decision to cancel her Las Vegas residency
Adele Fans were disappointed when the singer announced she was no longer residing in Las Vegas. However, Adele recently told BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs that she stands by the decision to pull out of the deal.
I definitely feel everyone’s frustration and I’m devastated and I’m scared about letting them down, and I thought I could regroup and make it work but I couldn’t, and I stand by that decision. “
She added that the backlash she received from fans was “brutal” and that she felt like a “shell of one person for a few months.” However, the criticism she received did not change her mind. Adele expressed that she didn’t want to host a show that wasn’t up to her standards.
You can’t buy me, you can’t buy me for nothing. I’m not just going to do a show because I have to or because people will be disappointed or because we’re going to lose a lot of money. I was like, ‘the show isn’t good enough. “
As we reported earlier, Adele took to Instagram to break the news and apologize to her fans for postponing her “Weekends With Adele” residency. The Vegas residency will run from Friday, January 21 to mid-April.
We tried absolutely everything we could to get it back together in time and good enough for you, but we were completely devastated by delivery delays and COVD. Half of my crew, half of my team are inactive with COVID – they still are – and cannot complete the program. I can’t give you what I have right now, and I’m gutted. My heart skipped a beat, and I apologize for coming to the last minute.”
