Radio 1 presenter Adele Roberts has announced that she has completely recovered from cancer.
Former Big Brother contestant revealed in October that she had been diagnosed with bowel cancer and was undergoing surgery to remove a tumor.
She wrote on Instagram: “Angels on Earth. The day I’ve been waiting for. Hearing the words ‘you are cancer-free’ makes me completely breathless. I keep repeating in my mind. It’s the sound. The most beautiful bar I think I’ve ever heard Although I prayed Dr. Khan would tell me that, I don’t think my head let me believe it until I heard it.
“Everything we’ve been through seems to be spinning in my body and life is a bit weird right now… BUT I’m SO HOT! I’m counting my blessings.
“I also have respect for anyone facing cancer. Your courage, your strength, your determination… and sometimes, your sense of humor is second to none. You’re inspiring. inspire me and give me the fire to never give up You guys are warriors and seeing you strong keeps me going Feel the fear and do it Sometimes It took all my strength just to get out of bed and face the day but I made it. Every day, I made sure I did something to ward off cancer. It robbed me. gone too many of us I don’t know what fate has in store for me but I know I will never stop trying.
“Thank you to my family, my friends, everyone who took the time to text me, send love or positive thoughts. You guys kept me going and helped me defeat the monster. That’s one thing Dr. Khan told me. Your mind may go on to dark places in the face of cancer, but it’s something I know I’ve got under control. I may have died – it still hurts now – but there’s no way I’d let it destroy my spirit.
“If something makes me happier than ever. Walking through the dark has brought me light. It has transformed me, given me the little tumor Audrey, brought wonderful people into my life. me and now it’s time for me to start real life.
“Thank you Dr. Khan, his team and the entire NHS. You are the angels among us. Thank you for saving my life.
“Thank you my Kate. The reason I have the strength to get out of bed every morning. I will never leave you and I will always find you. In this life and the next.
“As the lovely man I met named Terry told me recently: Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, And today is a gift.”
Roberts, from Southport, Merseyside, first rose to fame in the third series of Channel 4’s Oldest brother in 2002, along with housemates, including Kate LawlerAlison Hammond and Jade Goodywho was later diagnosed with cervical cancer and died in 2009.
She has been sharing updates on her condition with her followers on social media and recently appeared on the cover of Women’s Health Magazine Talk about how her diagnosis has helped her appreciate her body.
