AG, Michigan partners with Humane to prosecute animal abuse cases


DETROIT, Mich. (WNEM) – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and Michigan Humane are working together to investigate and prosecute animal abuse cases.

Nessel’s office said well-organized, multi-jurisdictional, large-scale combat rounds and similar operations require special resources for investigation and prosecution. Her department will provide support and resources to Michigan Humane and its agents to pursue the perpetrators.

“I know most Michigandians treat their pets like family members, and it is inconceivable to have those family members mistreat them,” says Nessel. “Animal abuse is cruel and barbaric. It is also a crime often associated with other serious criminal activities, including domestic violence, illegal possession of firearms, illegal gambling, drug possession, and mass animal abuse. grow up and fight. I am proud to partner with Michigan Humane to prosecute these offenders.”
