Alabama receives four-star commitment from WR Cole Adams

Alabama back to the board with last week’s Wednesday commitment as the four-star recipient of Owasso (Okla.) Cole Adams announced its commitment to Tide on Wednesday afternoon.

Adams becomes first wide receiver made by Alabama in class of 2023 as Nick Saban and receiver trainer Holmon Wiggins instantly embrace a threat from the field with lightning speed and superior line-running.

Adams saw his recruiting explode during the season as he only had seven Power Five offers from the likes of Arkansas, State of Iowa, Wisconsin and more at the end of his youth season. However, an offer from Alabama on January 31 helped stimulate his hiring as other major offers continued to arrive.

What makes Adams’ recruitment particularly interesting is that OklahomaReluctance of the offer until late game, as the Sooners switched to Adams after losing commitment from Ashton Cozart. Coach Cale Gundy launched the team Brent Venables and wide receivers shortly after, but that wasn’t enough to overtake the lead Alabama had built.

Adams made three official visits in June to Alabama, Oklahoma and Arkansas before fulfilling his commitment to Tide on Wednesday.

A threat of speed both on and off the field, Adams has a personal best of 10.65 in the 100-meter track and 6.98 in the 60-meter track.

During his three-year career, Adams made 105 tackles for 2,015 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also returned one pitch and three starters for the score, all during his junior season. In addition, Adams gained 548 yards and hit the ground 7 times.

Adams’ pace could be an instant game changer on teams especially when he arrived in Tuscaloosa as he demonstrated an excellent comeback both in the throw and kick the second leg. Once he’s grown more as a receiver and physically, Adams could see a sort of Cooper Kupp role in Bill O’Brien’s offense.

An attack threat has lined up inside, outside and outside the high school backstage, Alabama will be able to play with his versatility early on but will probably find that most of his damage at the university level will be able to be done from Slots.

His ability to create separation at the top of his lines will cause problems with larger defensive defenders, and his pace out of his break will separate him. away from defensive defenders faster and more flexibly in the SEC.
