Anne Heche: Actress critically hurt after her car crashes into house and bursts into flames | US News
American actress Anne Heche was seriously injured after her car crashed into a house in Los Angeles and caught fire.
According to NBCLA, the driver was speeding on a residential street – and the blue Mini Cooper drove 30ft into a two-story home in Mar Vista.
Local media reported that the 53-year-old man suffered severe burns.
Officers believe the vehicle may have veered off the side of the road and 2 feet off the ground when it hit the front of the property.
Footage obtained by TMZ shows Heche driving the same vehicle that was later badly damaged at the scene.
The impact caused a massive fire inside the property, and it took 59 firefighters “to reach, contain and completely extinguish the stubborn fire inside the heavily damaged structure”.
According to the LA Fire Department, a woman was found inside the vehicle and taken to the hospital. While the building is currently “unhabitable”, the owner is still unharmed.
A neighbor told NBCLA: “The house was full of smoke. I think they used the crane to move the car to evict the driver. That’s crazy.”
Heche is known for her roles in films like Psycho, Donnie Brasco and Cedar Rapids – and she previously dated Ellen DeGeneres from 1997 to 2000.
