It feels like that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla may never end. Long after the seas devoured the continents and the stars were gone, Eivor would still be searching for new settlements to loot and new cosmetics to play with. But today Ubisoft announced the almost unthinkable: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is over, and it’s coming in the next free DLC.
Is called Last Chapter, an update scheduled for later this year will see Eivor end all of his failures and meet some new historical figures along the way. Ubisoft didn’t go into more detail, but it looks like this will be a victory round, and perhaps a bit lower than some of the Viking’s previous DLC adventures.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla reappears in the fall of 2020 with the launch of PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The third game in the series’ open-world RPG era, transports players to ninth-century England via child. the eyes of Eivor, a Viking who leads her people to a strange new land after fleeing trauma and tragedy back home. It’s the best Assassin’s Creed game for several years, borrowed a bit The Witcher 3 and marry them by sneaking knives in the dark. The open world itself has many layers and is one of my favorites.
But Ubisoft wasn’t content to just leave things there. Instead, as has been the case with all of its recent games, Valhalla got the processing after full live service launch. The mini DLC pack includes a full range of new items and cosmetics, paid DLC story expansions that take players to Ireland and France, and even a brand new mode. inspired by roguelikes. Dawn of Ragnarokone of the more ambitious DLCs, even doubling down on the high fantasy side of the game.
But now, the years of new seasonal content are dwindling. And I, for one, feel relieved. The game continues to expand as Valhalla always makes me feel overwhelmed. Usually, I just wait until all the post-launch content has trickled down before returning. Looks like this winter I finally get a chance to go back to the super-luxury finished version of Valhalla and finish polishing every last icon on its massive map.
