Car fell off 16th street bridge onto Canal street, three people died

The Milwaukee Police Department said officers from District 2 engaged in a chase with a vehicle suspected of drug trafficking and reckless driving. The Toyota Avalon crossed the median strip in the middle of the road, crashed through the fence and over the bridge. Police said it appeared that three adult males in the vehicle were suspected, all three of whom died in the collision. Police are still trying to identify the three adult men, although the family has identified one as Kendrick Miller, 44. “He told me he was going to stay away, you know, stay put, but I guess things will happen,” his daughter Kendryanna Miller said. Police said the driver also hit pedestrians on the sidewalk as they left the roadway. Police said the pedestrian suffered minor injuries. Witnesses staying at the Potawatomi hotel and casino told 12 News reporter Kendall Keys they heard a loud noise that sounded like an explosion. They said they could see the aftermath from the hotel’s window and described the vehicle. “It was crushed, blackened, burned for 10 minutes,” said Marvin Lyons. John Jahn said: “Total. Totally engulfed in flames, Hulk burned black. You can hear the popping sound.” “I was just surprised. What would cause a car to go over a concrete bridge? How did that happen, unless someone was driving really fast?” “First of all, condolences to the victim’s family. Any life is a life that we must mourn, but we need to understand the behavior of individuals who take our lives and “We have to understand that there are consequences for our actions there,” said Sheriff Norman.

The Milwaukee Police Department said District 2 officers engaged in a chase with a vehicle suspected of drug trafficking and reckless driving.

Police said the chase lasted about a minute when the suspected vehicle crossed the 16th Street viaduct. The Toyota Avalon crossed the median median, crashed through a fence and over the side of the bridge.

Witnesses staying at the Potawatomi hotel and casino told 12 News reporter Kendall Keys they heard a loud noise that sounded like an explosion. They said they could see the aftermath from the hotel’s window and described the car.

“It rotted, blackened and burned for 10 minutes,” said Marvin Lyons.

John Jahn said: “Total. Totally engulfed in flames, Hulk burned black. You can hear the popping sound.” “I was just surprised. What would cause a car to go over a concrete bridge? How did that happen, unless someone was driving really fast?”

12 News Hannah Hilyard asked Milwaukee Sheriff Jeffrey Norman about Friday’s chase.

“First of all, condolences to the victim’s family. Any life is a life that we must mourn, but we need to understand the behavior of individuals who take our lives and “We have to understand that there are consequences for our actions there,” said Sheriff Norman.
