Colts owner reveals why team didn’t go after Lamar Jackson
In spite of University of Indianapolis general manager Chris Ballard incorrect to exclude, to expel transaction for Baltimore Crows quarterback Lamar Jackson, it looks like team owner Jim Irsay might have.
Speaking to ESPN’s Stephen Holder, Irsay admitted that he’s fine with the big contract Jackson is asking for, but what he’s not okay with is what the Colts would have to give up to get Jackson to Indy.
“It really has nothing to do with actual dollars,” Irsay he said. “I mean, paying such a contract isn’t the problem. I mean, it’s not the problem for me. The point is what’s the right thing to do for a franchise in terms of what it is. help us win in the long run.”
