“Damn time!” “Rob Manfred Is Not Blind”

Fans of Atlanta Braves can finally rejoice! Austin Riley no longer the biggest All-Star game of the year. Braves slugger has now been added to the National League roster to replace Nolan Arenado’s St. Louis Cardinals.

Riley did not make it to the All-Star lineup through fan voting. He was previously taken lightly by MLB when he announced he was replacing the injured Bryce Harper.

That decision was not well received by fans and showed a flawed All-Star selection process. Riley is an MVP candidate whose current slash is .282/.345/.568. He has 26 players to his name in 2022 – the second most this season.

However, Arenado’s decision to withdraw due to shoulder pain gave the MLB committee another chance to correct the mistake. Finally, Austin Riley is an All-Star.

The Braves now have more reason to celebrate. This is the first time since 2011, Atlanta advances to the Midsummer Classic with five representatives. Well, make it six now.

Riley will be joined by teammates Ronald Acuna Jr., William Contreras, Travis d’Arnaud, Dansby Swanson and Max Fried.

Before the Braves’ game against the Washington Nationals, Riley expressed gratitude for finally being recognized as an All-Star.

“Definitely excited. It’s the easiest and simplest thing you can say… It’s something that you look forward to and strive to accomplish, and to continue, I’m grateful” – Austin Riley

Riley couldn’t contain her joy.

MLB Twitter is totally buzzing because of Austin Riley

If support for a decision is unanimous, it is clearly the correct one. Not only Braves fans, but MLB fans in general are super excited for Austin Riley.

Based on his performance since his breakout in 2021, a call up All-Star is long overdue.

@Braves @ austinriley1308 Well deserved, the guy looks going to be a consistent 40+ homer, .900 OPS guy, where from third base you only see one or two consistent management guys in a decade

@Braves @ austinriley1308 Probably the most worthy All Star from Braves this year…though I can understand an argument for Dansby.

League Commissioner Rob Manfred and the entire MLB committee were fired for Riley’s snobby behavior. With Riley long overdue for official listing, some confidence in the regulator can now be restored.

The love and support for Riley continues to flow, and it’s heartwarming to see that.

@Braves @ austinriley1308 YES!!!!!!! Hallelujah!!!!!! Thank you Jesus!!!!! He definitely deserves it!!!!! Road to Austin Riley!!!! Congratulations!!!!

Riley isn’t the only last-minute change to the NL All-Star lineup. Los Angeles Dodgers left winger Tyler Anderson replaces Carlos Rodon of the San Francisco Giants. Second San Diego Padres player Jake Cronenworth also replaced Miami Marlins’ Jazz Chisholm Jr.
