Demetrious Johnson was searching for perfection when he met Adriano Moraes inside the circle for the second time. ‘Mighty Mouse’ will face Moraes for the ONE world flyweight title at A 161 on Amazon US prime time on August 26.
Moraes took the lead in their first meeting, claiming a shocking first round victory over the MMA legend. It was the first knockout loss of Johnson’s career.
As he prepares for his next match, Johnson is working on his game even more to be the best version of himself on the night of the teamfight.
In a recent interview, Demetrious Johnson told ONE Championship:
“Like I said, I’m working on my pitch, working on my stance. I make sure that when I enter the final round on August 26 in Singapore, I am the best version of myself. That’s what I’ve always strived for. I always strive for perfection and I just hope that I go out there and perform and not make any mistakes.”
The 35-year-old Johnson sees his match against the Brazilian as a big test, but doesn’t believe it was his biggest yet:
“Every fight I’ve fought since then has always been my biggest battle, whether it’s for the World Title or not.”
