Drew BarrymoreTheir childhood exploitation with drugs and alcohol is well documented. That’s why we were surprised to learn that her mother is very strict with food!
For those who only know the well-adjusted, mostly rom com producer and daytime talk show host she became, Drew was once the The wild child of Hollywood. Long before she was famous David Letterman above Midnight At the age of 20, in one of the most iconic live TV moments of the ’90s, she took on rock star behavior as a child star.

Drew made a surprising revelation on Friday’s episode of her new podcast News of Drewan addition of The Drew Barrymore Showin which she talks to her old friend and 80s star Rob Lowe. The conversation turned to kids who weren’t allowed to eat sugar, with Rob’s warning:
“I always knew there was going to be trouble when a kid came in and said, ‘My parents don’t give me sugar.’ I knew I was going to find the child sulking on the street. I just know it. Watch out for the kid telling you that his parents don’t give him sugar. Keep an eye on that kid.”
Drew agrees, saying:
“By the way you are so right, you are so right because my mom doesn’t give me sugar. Studio 54 and weed and booze, perfectly fine – but don’t touch that line. “
Like Rob said, she’s also a closet sugar junkie! Literally! She admits:
“And I did, I stole the chocolate from the cupboard. All other habits are outdoors but sugar is in the closet. Literally, I would hide it in a box in my closet…”
OH. She did cocaine at 12, but her mother is a sugar junkie?! Considering this has been treated more strictly than drugs, we can’t help but wonder if this has less of an effect on health and more on keeping the little movie star thin. are not. It’s certainly not the first time we’ve heard of show biz parents putting their children’s careers first.
