Early learning center employee charged with student abuse
HAYTI, Mo. (KAIT) – A former Missouri early education center employee is behind bars after police said she was caught red-handed in a video abusing her students.
According to the Hayti Police Department, on Wednesday, November 2, officers received a report from the Early Education Center that one of their teachers, Gladys Johnson, 23, of Caruthersville, had been seen. in the video attacking, choking, suffocating, and cursing students.
As soon as police were able to confirm the charges, Johnson was discovered and arrested, a press release said.
Johnson is being held at the Pemiscot County Justice Center, charged with abusing or neglecting a child, and serious mental or physical harm. No contract has been set yet.
