ED arrests former NSE CEO Ravi Narain in money-laundering case
NEW DELHI: Executive Board on Tuesday arrested the former NSE CEO and MD Ravi Narain in a money-laundering case, officials said. His role is being investigated by federal investigators as part of two criminal cases involving the stock exchange – the alleged co-location ‘fraud’ case and the wiretapping case employee’s illegality.
Narain is understood to have been arrested in the case of exploitation under the criminal sections of Anti-Money Laundering Law (PMLA).
ED previously arrested another former National Stock Exchange (NSE) MD and CEO Chitra Ramkrishna in the case of alleged wiretapping while CBIwhich is examining these cases in parallel, arrested her in the co-location case.
The Department of Enforcement has also arrested the former Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey in the case of alleged illegal wiretapping.
Narain is understood to have been arrested in the case of exploitation under the criminal sections of Anti-Money Laundering Law (PMLA).
