Elmo received his COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday, according to Sesame Workshop, the educational nonprofit behind “Sesame Street.”

In a public service announcement posted to YouTube, the beloved 3-and-a-half-year-old “Sesame Street” star talked to his father about what it was like to make the scene.
“It was a little difficult, but that’s okay,” said Elmo in the video.
Elmo’s father said he asked a lot of questions about the pediatrician, who assured him that vaccinations were safe and effective for children.

“Is it safe? Was that the right decision? “I talked to our pediatrician so I could make the right choice,” Louie said in PSA. “I learned that Elmo vaccinations are the best way to keep yourself, friends, neighbors and everyone else healthy and enjoying the things they love.”
COVID-19 vaccinations for the youngest Americans began last week. That means US children under the age of 5 – about 18 million teenagers – are eligible for the shot.
US regulators have authorized strikes from Moderna and Pfizer. The Moderna vaccine is two doses and the Pfizer shot is three doses.

Last November, Big Bird was vaccinated – sparking criticism from some conservative politicians. Texas Senator Ted Cruz, a Republican, called it “government propaganda.”
The CDC advises getting vaccinated even for people who already have COVID-19 to protect against reinfection and says other vaccines can be given at the same time.
