Enes Freedom takes issue with LeBron Brittney Griner’s comment
Before I begin, whatever controversy emerges from the trailer for Friday’s episode of The Shop is proof of how mean and stupid Americans can be. First, it’s a Summary. No one has any context on what LeBron James had to say about Brittney Griner or the full statement of fact except for the people in the room and whoever edited the episode.
Second, what he said was very insightful. “How can she feel like America has her back?” James said in the trailer. “I would feel like, ‘do I even want to go back to America?'”
He clarified his statements afterwards, although what he tweeted was almost exactly what he said in the trailer just longer and opening with “our beautiful country”. ” – needed when you Black, a billionaireand want to continue making a lot of money in this country.
Now the artist formerly known as Enes Kanter. He’s not happy with what James – whom he loves attacking to try to resonate with – has to say, and follows him on Twitter. Freedom quote tweeted James, and told him he was free to leave or exchange himself for her. “Some people really do NOT know what it’s like to live in a dictatorship.”

Freedom, you know who now knows what it’s like to live in a dictatorship? Griner. That’s why James said what he said. She is, as declared by the United States government, “wrongfully detained.” Her American rights have been stripped from her by an authoritarian government, and there was nothing she could do. She recently pleads guilty to a crime she may or may not have committed. The crime is that she has a vape box in her pocket, and that could lead to 10 years in prison in a dictatorial country.
Perhaps instead of taking every opportunity to criticize James, you, capitalize Freedom, should be more concerned with helping her regain her lowercase freedom, which you greatly appreciate.
While I was there, this country didn’t help you in one similar situation? That’s right, your home country, Turkey, has revoked your passport for speaking out against their dictator and you’re stranded abroad with no way back to America. I believe the US government has stepped in to help get you back into the state. I’m sure it was a stressful situation because I really shudder to think what would happen if the Turkish government got its hands on you. That would be a tragedy.
But this country, of which you were neither a citizen at the time, nor a native, intervened on the condition that safe passage to America, stay away from dictatorship. Griner, born in Houston, was detained by the authoritarian government for more than 100 days. Neither James, you nor I know, know exactly what was going through her mind right now. All we know is we don’t want to be her, and the three of us should take care of her health. We should not tell someone to leave a country with a constitutional right to speak out against that country if he so chooses. That is all that exists here.
I’m sure the situation Freedom went through is part of why he loves America so much – it saved his life. But having infinite gratitude does not mean that one American can tell another American how to be one.
Yes, there are many reasons why being an American is great, and one of them is that you can speak out against the government without being jailed, executed or punished. in any way. Part of appreciating those rights is using them, which James could barely do in that situation. He’s mostly trying to empathize with someone in a terrible situation.
That’s probably what you should do with your freedom, Freedom. If you love it so much, focus on getting an American, who is being treated cruelly by an authoritarian government just like you, back to her rights.
