To celebrate Dead Space’s 14th anniversary, Motive Studio held a special live stream showcasing their upcoming game remake. The extensive guided presentation introduces new gameplay footage as well as a recap of features designed to make the game more terrifying than ever.
Side-by-side comparisons of the video illustrate the key differences between the original and the remake. One big change is that the Ishimura is now a seamless, interconnected ship that players can explore more freely. For example, use Isaac’s rocket boosters to fly over areas that you could only pass through before. A new system called Intensity Spawn Director recombines death spawn points, ensuring they’ll ambush veteran players in unexpected ways and sometimes in greater numbers. Dead Space also features improved death splits, new side quests designed to destroy the supporting cast, new alternate shooting modes for weapons, new puzzles, and more.
Dead Space launches January 27 for PlayStation5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
