F1: Delay in the rain at the start of the Singapore Grand Prix

SINGAPORE – The Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix will start an hour later due to delays caused by a downpour on Sunday.
The race, which was originally set to start at 2000 local time (1200GMT), will now begin at 2105 local time (1305GMT) with the cars scheduled to start on their laps.
An FIA spokesperson said: “The Pit Lane Opening and the entire Departure Process have been delayed due to weather conditions.
“Procedures are already underway to clean up standing water,” it added.
Charles Leclerc will start from the pole position for Ferrari.
Championship leader Max Verstappen will start eighth, dampening his hopes of finishing a second straight title with five races to spare.
