Atlanta, Ga. (CBS46) – At a time when it’s hard to find good workers in the restaurant business, there’s a recipe for success.
Jeremy Caro is the general manager of Dua Vietnamese in Fayetteville and has come up with a unique way to address the labor shortage.
He has found a perfect employee named Beemo. It’s his robot server who never misses a day of work.
“She is making a very strong case for employee of the year,” said Caro.
And the robot always has a good attitude.
“I think it would be nice to not get the attitude from the robot. Yep, don’t program the attitude into the robot,” says customer Donna Hawkins.
Management purchased the robot to fill one of their open server slots, and it can self-serve up to three tables at a time.
“You might think it would be tasteless, but it sounds useful. It was kindness, consideration, courtesy, friendliness,” said customer Jim McKeithen.
“Fast, great, very short and simple. This is your food, let’s go,” said customer Jennifer Sanchez.
And nothing seems to slow it down.
“Our robot Beemo here is the absolute best. It helped me when I only had two servers or even one on the floor and I got through the night without any complaints,” said Caro.
