Feist leaves Arcade Fire tour in light of multiple sexual misconduct allegations against Win Butler
Canadian musician Leslie Feist says she’s leaving the Arcade Fire tour due to sexual misconduct allegations against lead singer Win Butler.
Feist has been booked as the opening act for the European leg of the Montreal-based band’s “We” tour, which kicks off in Dublin on Tuesday.
The tour comes just days after the American entertainment publication Pitchfork published an article alleging that the 42-year-old musician had inappropriate sex with four people.

Among the complaints sent to Pitchfork by accusers that interactions were allegedly inappropriate based on age gaps and power dynamics at play and included unwelcome advancements. One of the accusers said that Pitchfork Butler sexually assaulted them twice in 2015 when they were 21 and he was 34.
The Canadian press did not independently verify the accounts featured in the report, and Butler denied the allegations. He says all encounters take place between consenting adults and that he never touches a woman against her will or demands sexual favors.
In a statement posted to Instagram, Feist said she was in a pub in Dublin when she first learned of the allegations. She performed the first two nights of the schedule.
She said she couldn’t fix the situation by leaving the tour, nor could she fix it by staying. However, she said she had to distance herself “from this tour, not this conversation.”
