Florida’s Hall, Kentucky’s Steiner named Bowerman made it to the finals

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (June 27, 2022) — Anna Hall of the University of Florida and Abby Steiner of the University of Kentucky have been named finalists for The Bowerman, according to an announcement Monday by the Athletic Trainers Association. United States Athletics and Athletics (USTFCCCA).

Hall and Steiner were among three female finalists selected by the Bowerman Advisory Board. Camryn Rogers of California is the remaining finalist. The male finalists will be announced on Tuesday.

Bowerman is the highest honor given to the school’s best track and field athletes of the year. An SEC female athlete has won the Bowerman on the last three occasions the award has been awarded: Keturah Orji of Georgia in 2018, Sha’Carri Richardson of LSU in 2019, and Athing Mu of Texas A&M in 2021 .

Hall and Steiner are the 15th and 16th women from the SEC to be named a Bowerman finalist. Hall is the second Florida woman to be selected as a finalist, after Yanis David in 2019. Steiner is the third athlete from Kentucky to be selected as a finalist, along with Kendra Harrison (2015) and Sydney McLaughlin (2018).

Online fan voting for The Bowerman begins at 3 p.m. CT Tuesday at thebowerman.org/vote. Bowerman will be introduced in December at the annual USTFCCCA Conference held in Denver.
