‘Full House’ star Jodie Sweetin violently pushed by LAPD during pro-choice protest – National

Actor Jodie Sweetin, child star of the 90s sitcom Happy homewas pushed to the ground by Los Angeles police officers during an abortion rights protest on Sunday.
Video of the incident was shared on social media Sunday as Sweetin, 40, led a group of people protesting the Roe v. Wade of the United States Supreme Court.
Photographer Michael Ade captured the hit. In the video, two Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers can be seen shoving Sweetin off a highway embankment. Sweetin landed hard on one knee before quickly returning. The crowd can be heard chanting “No justice, no peace” in the background.
“What’s wrong with you guys?” One protester could be heard shouting at officers in response.
Sweetin, who plays the middle child Stephanie Tanner on the ABC sitcom, released a statement on Sunday responding to her health concerns.

“I am immensely proud of the hundreds of people who showed up yesterday to exercise their First Amendment rights and act immediately to peacefully protest the colossal injustices that have been perpetrated. from our Supreme Court,” she said, according to multiple news outlets.
“Our activism will continue until our voices are heard and action is taken. This will not stop us, we will continue to fight for our rights. We are not free until we are ALL free.”
Another video posted from Ade shows a group of LAPD officers violently pushing back at protesters and hitting some of them with batons in downtown LA. from the batons of some officers. Two other protesters can be seen having their clothes thrown.
The LAPD told NBC Los Angeles that they have seen the videos and are investigating the use of force by their employees.
“The LAPD is aware of a video clip of a woman being pushed to the ground by police officers who would not allow the group to walk into and cross the 101 freeway,” a statement sent to NBC4 said.
“The force employed will be assessed against LAPD policies and procedures. As the nation continues to grapple with the latest Supreme Court decision, the Los Angeles Police Department will continue to facilitate First Amendment rights, while protecting lives and property. “
