Glen Carbon who helped give birth to the boy is honored

GLEN CARBON, Ill. (KMOV) – Two Glen Carbon policemen, who helped provide A healthy baby boy was honored Tuesday night.

Officer Zachary Walters and Sergeant Jeffrey Blind were in the Lucinda Drive area when a 911 call came in to a woman in labor. Two officers reached the woman before the ambulance arrived and noted that delivery was imminent.

The staff then helped the mother deliver the boy at 3:36 pm on August 31. An ambulance arrived shortly after and took the mother and the infant to the hospital.

“This job is so unpredictable, and most of us are called in with unhappy and tragic incidents. I’m so glad our police department took part in this truly happy event, and I’m so proud of our dispatcher and officers for the way they handled themselves and helped the family. this in time of need,” said Sheriff Todd Link.

At a fire department meeting Tuesday night, the two officers, paramedics and delivery coordinators Awards Pin stork. The boy’s family was also present.
