GoldenEye 007: Long Rumored Remaster Reported in Limbo Due to Ukraine War
The long-rumored GoldenEye 007 remake for Xbox seems to have been delayed due to the Ukraine war.
As reported by industry insider Jeff Grubb on Twitter (below) and endorsed by Eurogamera remake of the classic Nintendo 64 game "still in limbo because of the war". While nothing is official, this would match reports that the game has been in a near-complete state for a while.
A remake of GoldenEye came closer than ever last month like Microsoft has actually listed its achievements on its official website, with some developers having them unlocked. Therefore, Microsoft may be ready to release the game.
Goldeneye is still in limbo because of the war. Team leader 1 v 100 has left Microsoft. I don’t know what that means for the game.

The Xbox TrueAchievements achievement tracking website also has listed the game back in January, and this isn’t even the first time Microsoft has tried to put GoldenEye on its console. An updated version of the original has been confirmed to be in development for Xbox 360 Live Video Games at developer Rare but was canceled due to licensing issues and files for the game leaked online in February 2021.
It’s also not the only (possibly) James Bond game on the horizon, as Hitman developer. Io Interactive is also working on its own 007 Projectbring A whole new story about the world of super spy.
