Grammy Award-winning singer and actress Olivia Newton-John has passed away at the age of 73. Olivia rose to fame in the 70s for her role as Sandy in the movie ‘Grease.’ Her husband, John Easterling, confirmed her death on Instagram in a statement. He wrote, “Olivia Newton-John (73 years old) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
He continued, “Olivia has been a symbol of victory and hope for over 30 years, sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with botanical medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation, which specializes in research in botanical medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that all donations be made in her memory to @onjfoundation. “
Olivia is survived by her husband, John Easterling; daughter Chloe Lattanzi; sister Sarah Newton-John; brother Toby Newton-John; granddaughters Tottie, Fiona, and Brett Goldsmith; Emerson, Charlie, Zac, Jeremy, Randall and Pierz Newton-John; Jude Newton-Stock, Layla Lee; Kira and Tasha Edelstein; and Brin and Valerie Hall.
Her ‘Grease’ co-star John Travolta also wrote a beautiful note to the late actress. He wrote, “My dearest Olivia, you have made our lives so much better,” Travolta wrote in a post. “Your impact is amazing. I love you very much. We will see you again on the road, and we will all be together again. Sincerely from the moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, Your John! “
Our thoughts are with Olivia’s entire family at this time.
