Two women died while several others were injured after a bus carrying about 50 passengers fell into a gorge in Malegam Ghat in Dang district, Gujarat on Saturday night.

SURAT: Two women died while several others were injured after a bus carrying about 50 passengers crashed into a gorge in Malegam Ghat in Dang district, Gujarat on Saturday night.
The bus is heading to Saputara hill station from Surat.
The bodies of the deceased women have been moved to the nearest medical center in the village of Shamgahan. The deceased have yet to be identified.
The bus driver is in critical condition and the injured are being treated at a medical center in Shamgahan.
The accident happened about 7km from the village of Shamgahan.
The road to Malegaon Ghat passes through the forest and hills of Dang.
Officials said search and rescue operations were affected by the rain.
The bus was part of a fleet of five buses carrying a group of Garba class from Honey Park Road in Adajan.
All five buses carry mainly women and children.
“When I received information from the local people, I directed the officers to start a rescue operation and treat the injured. Teams of doctors are going to the nearest medical center and the county government. is conducting a rescue operation,” said Purnesh Modi, Minister of Roads. and construction department.
