Gyanvapi case: Varanasi court verdict on carbon dating of ‘shivling’ today | India News

VARANASI: Varanasi District Magistrates Court is set to issue its ruling at the request of four women plaintiffs, seeking court intervention for carbon dating of purpose ‘shivling’ The claim was found in the mosque’s burned-out pond during a court commission survey on May 16.
Hindu applicants in a court-mandated videography survey of the mosque grounds claimed that a “shimmer object” was found near “wazookhana”, a small reservoir used by Muslims to perform the ritual of abolition before offering namaz.
This claim has been opposed by the Muslim side, who claim that the object is part of a “fountain”.
During the hearing, Anjuman Intezamia Masajid – the management committee of the Gyanvapi mosque – strongly opposed the request for carbon dating and scientific investigation of the ‘shimmer’.
AIM’s lawyers stated in court that “the Supreme Court’s order of May 17 to defend it is universal, such a structure cannot be disturbed”.
Against the competition of AIM, Vishnu Jain, the attorney for plaintiffs 2 to 5 in the case said: “SC has empowered the Varanasi district judge through an order of May 20 to process all applications related to the case.” “After concluding arguments by all parties on carbon dating and scientific investigation of the ‘wobble’ and its components, district judge Ajay Krishna Vishvesha has reserved his order for the 14th. October,” district (civil) government attorney Mahendra Prasad Pandey told TOI.
AIM’s lawyer Akhlaq Ahmed said, “We filed an objection to a request for carbon dating and a scientific investigation of the alleged ‘wobble’ structure in court on Tuesday, mentioning that the structure structure would have to be disturbed for any of these investigations. In the order of May 17, SC requested protection of the structure. As the order of SC was in vogue, how was the demand? Does this property prevail over it?”
The Muslim side also said the original case was about worship Shringar Gauri while the structure in the mosque has nothing to do with it.
Under such conditions, the Department of Archeology could neither conduct any investigations nor produce a legal report after conducting a scientific investigation, they said.
