Richard Griffiths died in 2013, aged 65.
The veteran star has played Harry’s uncle Vernon Dursley in five films, his last appearance being an appearance. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 In 2011.
Two years later, he died from complications from heart surgery.
Daniel Radcliffe became close to Griffiths during filming, and they also worked together on the play. Equus both on Broadway and London’s West End.
After hearing the sad news of Griffith’s passing, Radcliffe shared a heartfelt tribute on social media.
“Richard was by my side during the two most important moments of my career,” he wrote. “In August 2000, before we started official production on Potter, we shot a scene outside the Dursleys, this was my first shot as Harry. I was very nervous and he made me laugh. feel comfortable.
“Seven years later, we got together on Equus. It was my first time doing a play but, to my horror, his encouragement, guidance, and humor made it a joy. In fact, any room he walks into makes me twice as funny. and twice as smart just because of his presence. I’m proud to say I know him.”
