Herm Edwards resigns as head coach of ASU

Devil Digest learned that during today’s ASU team meeting, the players were informed that head coach Herm Edwards would resign immediately. Executive coach Shaun Aguano will be interim head coach for the rest of the year.

The announcement comes after ASU’s painful non-conference loss to a 30-21 home loss to Eastern Michigan.

Edwards hit the 26-20 mark in his five years in Tempe.

While the State of Arizona is still being investigated by the NCAA for alleged hiring violations during the no-contact period. However, individuals close to the situation stressed that the decision has nothing to do with the ongoing NCAA investigation.

Devil Digest has announced that Running back coach Shaun Aguano will be ASU’s interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
