Hidilyn Diaz dominates the world weightlifting championship with 3 gold medals

MANILA, Philippines – Hidilyn Diaz finally added the elusive World Weightlifting Championships gold medal to her collection as she dominated the women’s 55 kg class on Thursday (Manila time) in Bogota, Colombia.
The Tokyo Olympics Gold Medal lifting the total weight of 207kg to beat Rosalba Morales of Colombia and Ana Gabriela Lopez of Mexico, winning all three gold medals in the recoil, jockey and general election.
Diaz lifted 93kg in the recoil to win his first gold medal at the world championships and scored 114kg to top the loop.
The 31-year-old weightlifting icon has finally won a World Championship gold medal that is missing from her collection, which includes gold medals from last year’s Olympics, the Asian Games and Southeast Asian Games.

The world championship gold medal is something Diaz has been chasing since winning bronze in the women’s 53kg in 2015 and 2017. She withdraw of the weightlifting world at Tashkent last year.
