From the sweeping desert landscape in Sand dunes to Gotham’s grim skyline in Batman, Hollywood’s top physical production specialists are faced with the noble task of scouring the world to realize the vision of the script on screen. After a two-year hiatus, the International Association of Film Commissioners, a group of more than 300 commissioners on six continents, will be hosting AFCI Week from June 27 to June 30 at the Sofitel Los Angeles in Beverly Hills. AFCI President Eve Honthaner said it was “a unique annual event for film committee professionals held on a global scale.” Events include a networking reception, Q&A with a select group of executives, and an optional day tour of major manufacturing sites, punctuated by a power brunch on May 29. 6 (co-organizer The Hollywood Reporter).
