How to fix it, possible reasons and more

The “Black Screen and Freeze” bug in Overwatch 2 is one of the most frustrating issues in the title. Two of the biggest reasons for this error in shooters is game version mismatch and if your PC is not compatible with the recommended and minimum system requirements of the shooter.

However, there are certain fixes you can make to resolve the issue and today’s tutorial will specifically look at how you can get rid of the “Black Screen and Freeze” error in Overwatch 2.


Fixed “Black Screen and Freeze” in Overwatch 2

To be able to fix the “Black screen and freeze” error bug in Overwatch 2There are several things that you will be asked to do.


1) Update the game to the latest version

If the “Black Screen and Freeze” error is occurring due to version mismatch, then you can easily fix it by updating the game to the latest version.

If you’re on a PC, you’ll need to visit the Overwatch 2 settings page in the Battle.net client. There you will find the option to check for updates and by clicking on it the customer will automatically search for the latest version of the shooter.

The patching process will take place automatically and once completed, the game will be updated to the latest version.

If you’re using a console, you’ll just need to press the select button after highlighting the game and select the “check for updates” option.


2) Check the system requirements

If you do not qualify for either requestthen it can be quite difficult to enjoy the shooter as Blizzard intended.

3) Update the graphics driver

Another solution you can consider is updating graphics driverMany in the community claim to have resolved the “Black Screen and Freeze” bug in Overwatch 2.

If you are using an NVIDIA GPU, you should be able to automatically update your drivers using the GeForce experience. For AMD you will require Radeon Adrenaline Software.

Updating the graphics driver can only solve the problem you are having.

4) Uninstall and reinstall the game

While a drastic step to take, it can become a necessary step. If all else fails, you can simply uninstall and then reinstall the game in your system.
