“I haven’t thought about the transfer window yet, thanks for reminding me of that!” – Graham Potter responds after being asked if Chelsea will sign a new midfielder in January

Chelsea Owner Graham Potter recently reacted to questions about whether he would buy a centre-back in the upcoming January transfer window.

Potter claimed his third win as manager of the Blues as his team beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on October 8.

Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic and Armando Broja put their names on the scoreboard to deliver a resounding victory for Potter’s team.

While speaking to the press after the game, the former Brighton & Hove Albion manager was reminded that his side were still short of a midfielder. He was asked if the club would explore the possibility of bringing in a new face during the January transfer window.

Here’s how Potter responded (via football.london):

“I haven’t thought about the transfer window yet. Thanks for reminding me of that! I’ve been busy with three games in a week, but my answer is always any club has to come, when the window is open, looking for options and how they can improve. But my job as head coach is to help the players here and help them improve.”

Potter went on to add:

“You can see from the team today that there’s a lot of positives, but we’re not at our maximum yet, but it’s also very exciting because we can help the team and individuals improve. “

He added:

“All you can do as a head coach is communicate why and admit that you’re not always right. But we’re doing it with good intentions and the right thing. The important thing is that we have a strong team, a strong team because it’s really hard to achieve anything without that.”
