Today, August 23, 2022, Google honored Anna Mani with a Google Doodle, on the 104th anniversary of her birth, thanks a lot to Google, Anna Mani is one of India’s first female scientists Degree.

Her full name is “Anna Modayil Mani”, she is one of the great physicists and meteorologists of India.

Anna Mani (अन्ना मणि) has made great contributions in the field of meteorological measurement.

Mani was born on August 23, 1918 in Peermade Kerala, and died on August 16, 2001 at the age of 82 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Anna Mani’s father is a civil engineer.

She is very dedicated to her work and has never been married, Anna Mani has been affiliated with major scientific organizations such as –
International Association of Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics, International Solar Association, National Academy of Sciences of India, American Meteorological Association, World Meteorological Organization.

Anna Mani was quite inspired by the nationalist movement, by the liberal activism of Mahatma Gandhiji. One of the great things is that Anna Mani only wears khadi clothes.

Also, she loves to read and learn new things. so one time she asked her family to buy her a set of “Encyclopedia Britannica” instead of the traditional Diamond Ring gift.

B.Sc. Honors Degree in Physics and Chemistry

Majored in meteorology at Imperial College, London.

Anna Mani Job:

Former Deputy Director General of Meteorological Department of India

Anna Mani is a Visiting Professor at the Raman Research Institute (RRI).

In addition, Anna Mani served as a WMO consultant in Egypt

Anna Mani has been affiliated with major organizations such as International Society of Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics, International Solar Association, National Academy of Sciences of India, American Meteorological Society, Foundation World Meteorology.

Some of her contributions include establishing a network of solar irradiance measurement stations, she also contributed to the establishment of a solar instrument manufacturing unit, Wind Anemometers for Wind Energy and ozone measuring instruments. . Mani has also contributed to the establishment of a meteorological facility and measuring tower at India’s Thumba Missile Launch Facility (TRLS) at Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, India. under the guidance of CV Raman, a famous Indian scientist, she died on August 16, 2001 due to Stroke in her town of residence Thiruvananthapuram.
