Iraqi parliament swears in new members to replace Sadrists

IRAQ: IraqCongress was sworn in before new lawmakers on Thursday to replace 73 members of a bloc led by Moqtada al-Sadr after being strong Shi‘I am the Muslim cleric who has asked them to resign amid a long stalemate over forming a government.
The influx of new legislators is likely to strengthen the position of SadrIran-backed opponents in parliament.
