IT vs IT: Jaishankar says India expert in IT, Pakistan in ‘International Terror’ | India News

NEW DELHI: In a mention of Pakistan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs S Jaishankar said that while India is the expert in Information Technology, “our neighbor is the expert on international terrorism”.
“We have a neighbor… just like we are experts in IT (information technology), they are experts in ‘international terrorism’. It has been going on for years … but we can explain to the world that terrorism is terrorism, today it is done against us, tomorrow it will be against you,” Jaishankar said at an event in Gujarat’s Vadodara.
He also pointed out that the world’s understanding of terrorism has changed from what it used to be and they no longer tolerate it, “this is an example of our diplomacy”. “Countries that use terrorism are under pressure and increasingly reluctant,” the minister said.
“No other country has practiced terrorism in the way that Pakistan has. You show me anywhere in the world what Pakistan has been doing for many years against India. After the Mumbai attacks today. 11/26 it is important for us to clarify Jaishankar told us that this kind of behavior and actions is unacceptable and there will be consequences
Speaking about terrorist incidents in northeast India, Jaishankar said in recent years these activities have decreased as India was able to reach a land boundary agreement with Bangladesh in 2015.

That deal “prevented extremists from taking refuge in Bangladesh, which has ceased their activity in northeastern India,” the EAM noted.
‘Facing top pressure’
Jaishankar also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not give in to pressure amid soaring oil prices and advised that India must do what’s best for the country and if pressure comes face to face.
“Due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, gasoline prices doubled. We had pressure from where to buy oil, but PM Modi and the government has a view that we have to do what is best for our country and if pressure comes we have to face it,” Jaishankar said.
During the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Jaishankar said Prime Minister Modi called both of them President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy cease fire for a while so we can safely evacuate our students.

It should be noted that India has repeatedly called on Russia and Ukraine to end the war and opt for dialogue and diplomacy.
