Jade Clarke and Chelsea Pitman are two key new signings for London Pulse

England’s most-titled international Jade Clarke and 2018 Commonwealth Games champion Chelsea Pitman have joined London Pulse for the 2023 Vitality Netball Superleague season.

This ambitious franchise has enjoyed their best season yet in 2022 by reaching the Superleague playoffs for the first time and has added stellar experience to their team in the form of Clarke and Pitman.

The recent 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham was Jade Clarke’s fifth and she led the Leeds Rhinos Netball by example in last season’s Vitality Netball Superleague.

Pitman returned to England and signed a full-time contract at the elite level after returning to the court as a training partner with West Coast Fever last season in Suncorp Super Netball. The courtieress was famous for her speed and delicate attack ability.

London Pulse head coach Sam Bird will look to Clarke and Pitman to raise their standards even further and guide the younger players on their team.

One of Britain’s most exciting young talents Funmi Fadoju will return to Pulse for another season, as will Olivia Tchine, Zara Everitt and Ellie Rattu

England Futures players Alicia Scholes and Berri Neil also returned more often along with Sasha MacDonald and Ashleigh Dekker.

Experienced Lindsay Kable will join Fadoju and Halimat Adio in London Pulse’s defence, as Adio returns from a significant injury break.

“We have a super talented young squad and we’ve done a great job with that young talent,” said London Pulse head coach and CEO Sam Bird. Sky Sports News

“Having two world-class players like Jade and Chelsea in the mix really reinforces that and provides experience.

Bird continued: “Given the talent we had, we felt it was the right chemistry to try and win this year.

“Failing to make it to the final last season (after reaching the playoffs) would have been very frustrating, so we are looking to make it to the final but also develop character and connections between great players. this.

“The coaching staff are really excited to be working with this team.”

London Pulse: Halimat Adio, Jade Clarke, Ashleigh Dekker, Zara Everitt, Funmi Fadoju, Lindsay Kable, Sasha MacDonald, Berri Neil, Chelsea Pitman, Ellie Ratu, Alicia Scholes and Olivia Tchine.
