Justin Bieber has announced that he will be taking a break from his scheduled world tour to “rest and get well”.

The Canadian singer revealed in June he was diagnosed with a rare condition called Ramsay Hunt syndrome. leading to complete paralysis of the right half of the faceforced him to cancel performances.

Writing on Instagram, 28 years old Bieber said he has returned to the stage but has done six live shows since his diagnosis “takes a toll on me”.

He said: “Last weekend I performed at Rock in Rio and I gave everything I had for the Brazilian people.”

But burnout has “overtaken” him, he added, and after speaking to his doctors, family and team, he has decided to prioritize his health over his work. .

“I will be taking a break from touring for the time being,” the music star explained.

“I’ll be fine, but I need time to rest and get better. I’m so proud to bring this program and our message of justice to the world.”

He thanked his fans for their support and ended his message by saying, “I love you all passionately!”

The star did not say when he will return.

There are 70 performances in the log until March 2023 in South America, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Europe.

Ramsay Hunt syndrome is a complication of the shingles virus that can appear in people who had chickenpox as children.

The NHS says it is a viral disease of the facial nerve.

Possible symptoms include blisters in the ears and on the roof of the mouth, as well as facial weakness.

It can be treated with steroids, antivirals, and facial rehabilitation.
