“In the future, any Twitter that deals with impersonation that doesn’t explicitly specify ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended,” Musk decided on Sunday.

He claimed before the takeover, accounts were “given a pre-suspension warning”, but this will no longer be the case.

After his tweet, Griffin, posing as Musk, wrote, “I have decided that it is right to green vote their choice.”

It’s not clear if Griffin was suspended for impersonating Musk.

Griffin didn’t stop after her account was suspended either; The comedian instead logged into her late mother’s account and tweeted “#FreeKathy”.

Also on Sunday, Musk responded on Twitter to reports that Griffin’s account had been suspended. In the joke, Musk wrote that Griffin was “suspended for posing as a comedian”.

He claims she can get her account back for $8, the impending cost of a blue verified check mark on Twitter.

Using his late mother’s profile, Griffin responded to Musk’s tweets. She called Musk a “hole” and “a hack”.

“Do a better job of running this company. It used to mean something,” she wrote before signing it as “KG”.

On Monday, Griffin continued the joke. She claims to be Maggie Griffin in contact with Musk “from the spirit world”.

“This is not a parody. This is the real ghost of Kathy Griffin’s canned wine-loving mom saying I’ll get drunk and throw my bingo card at you,” Griffin wrote.

Griffin isn’t the only person whose account has been suspended for impersonating Musk.

Comedian Sarah Silverman announced her account was locked when she changed her name and photo to Musk and tweeted“I’m a libertarian and I eat a dull breakfast every morning.”

YouTuber (and internet celebrity troll) Ethan Klein also announced his account has been suspended for impersonating Musk. In a TikTok video posted late Sunday, Klein gleefully lamented that he was “permanently banned on Twitter by freedom of speech fighter, Elon Musk.”

When his name and photo were changed to Musk, Klein tweeted: “Although Jeffrey Epstein committed a terrible crime, I still miss him on nights like this for his warmth and friendship. [sic]. Rest in peace old friend. “
