The Mars Hill assault commander (Ala.) Koby Keenum boomed last fall and saw his hiring numbers continue to grow throughout the spring with a total of 41 offers on his resume. The three-star prospect cut his listing to the Top 5 on June 1 and made official visits to Louisville, Kentucky and North Carolina last month. In the end, Keenum decided the SEC was the place for him, committing to the Wildcats on Saturday morning.

“Eli Cox right now. He is a 12th grader and will be my freshman there. They’re thinking I’m going to be behind him the first year I’m there and when he graduates I’ll take his role in the play and start. It’s going to be fun.”
WHAT THE WILDCATS ARE GETTING…
Keenum is a top-level prospect in his position, currently ranking 3rd center in the country according to Rivals.com. He’s also the 24th-ranked prospect in the talent-rich state of Alabama. Keenum is currently lined up in the offensive line for his high school, he is very agile and does a great job of coordinating with the defensive midfielders with his precise hand placement and cushioning in the midfield. while always moving with his feet and turning his defender. His high school team is more offensively oriented, but his handling experience shows his athleticism and versatility will translate very well in Kentucky and he could be someone who can easily Slide into one of the two guard positions if necessary.
WHY BIG FOR KENTUCKY…
First, the Wildcats beat both Louisville and North Carolina for Keenum’s commitment. Both of those programs are hot on the recruiting trail and have classes that rank in the current Top 30. Kentucky is working on building an impressive offensive line in the class of 2023 with Keenum as the latest addition along with offensive tackle commitments. Malachi wood and Austin Ramsey. Kentucky is looking to add another offensive line to the fold with state talent William Spencer as the main pick. The Wildcats are also still in the mix for wide receiver targets Anthony Brown and Devin Hyatt together with newly provided Jakob Dixon.
