Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde camp MLAs urge CM to move SC on rally | Mumbai News

MUMBAI / THANE: One day after Bombay high court allowed Uddhav Thackeray to lead Shiv Sena to hold the annual Dussehra rally at Dadar’s Shivaji Park, the Sena MLA rebels urged the chief Eknath Shinde to challenge the HC order in the Supreme Court. Shinde legislators asked the CM not to let the Uddhav camp hold a protest at Shivaji Park.
“We respect the decision of the court. However, we will go to SC against the decision that the high court has made. We will receive a copy of the order on Monday. We will then receive a copy of the order. discussions with senior legal experts. CM Shinde will ultimately decide. But the point of Shiv Sainiks of Balasaheb Thackeray is to go to SC,” said MLA Suhas Kande of the Shinde camp.
Shinde group sources say CM will hold a meeting between his MLAs and faction leaders to discuss challenging the HC order.
Both Uddhav and Shinde factions have begun preparations to mobilize party staff for their Dussehra rallies at Shivaji Park and BKC. The Shinde group has obtained permission from MMRDA to hold its Dussehra rally at the BKC field.
“Shiv Sainiks will gather in large numbers at BKC. About 350 to 400 trains will arrive in Mumbai from Nashik for the Dussehra rally. We have pre-booked two trains from my own Manmad constituency. Before that. , Eknath Shinde also organized the Dussehra rally “So the preparatory work that we used to do for Shivaji Park before is now being done for the BKC,” said Kande.
Thane rebel leaders described Uddhav Thackeray’s upcoming Dussera rally as nothing more than a “taunt” rally and called on Sainiks from the city and state to let the Shinde rally at BKC great success.
Former Thane mayor Naresh Mhaske said late Friday while addressing a group of party workers, “Their (Thackeray) rally will just be a sabha ‘tomna’ (the Marathi word for mockery). Participants will not hear anything substantial about Maharashtra’s development, and his (Thhackeray) speech will only be filled with mockery and ridicule towards us.”
Mhaske later told the media that Shinde supporters and Sainiks from Thane would participate in the BKC rally in large numbers. “Nearly 30,000 Sainiks loyal to Shinde will head to the BKC field, where he will hold a rally sometime
Meanwhile, Cabinet minister and Shinde loyalist Dada Bhuse, who is in Thane justifying the BKC venue for the Shinde rally, said that in terms of the prime minister’s popularity, it is only natural that they will ask for the largest facility of Mumbai to conduct the protest.
