Man killed on Wallisville Road in northeast Harris County
Wallisville Road was closed in both directions as deputies investigated.
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A 65-year-old man dies after being hit by a pickup truck while crossing the street in northeast Harris County on Thursday morning, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
Delegates said the victim was going out for her daily exercise and was crossing the street to return home when she was hit by a black truck driven by a 35-year-old father on his way to school with his daughter.
The delegate said this incident happened at 6:30 am. Wallisville Street just east of Ring 8. At the time of the accident, the area was very dark because the street lights weren’t on.
Deputies said the victim was not using the crosswalk when he was stabbed. He is presumed dead at the scene.
The driver involved in the fatal crash remains at the scene.
Delegates said the case will be referred to the district attorney’s office once their investigation is complete. They added that the charges were not likely to happen.
