Mason Greenwood ‘arrested on suspicion of breaching bail conditions’ | UK News
Soccer player Mason Greenwood has been arrested on suspicion of violating bail conditions.
The Manchester United player, 21, is out on bail after being arrested in February on suspicion of rape, assault and death threats.
Greenwood has not been charged and his bail was extended in June amid police claims that police are still investigating complaints against him.
He was arrested at his home in Greater Manchester on Saturday morning following reports that he had attempted to contact his alleged victim, The Sun reported.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “Greater Manchester Police are aware of an allegation involving a 21-year-old man breaching bail conditions and an arrest has been made on Thursday. Seven days October 15, 2022.
“Requests are ongoing at this time.”
Greenwood has been suspended by the club pending the outcome of the lawsuit, but is still receiving a salary of £75,000-a-week. He also had his contract with Nike terminated.
