IT’S THE FINAL COUNT, but before we get to the finish line, I wanted to share with you all the ways I prepared for the wedding with a timeline of my complete beauty (& body).
Let’s be honest – the past year has been pretty lackluster when it comes to my “rituals”. My brows were a mess, I ate a lot of my emotions (lol!!), hadn’t had a facial in over a year, and really had to refocus when it came to the wedding. So I really went on a schedule with a lot of different things to make sure I felt my best and most confident on our wedding day.
That being said, this is just MY timeline. Some things you may not want or need, maybe you’ve done the entire quarantine and/or managed to maintain your brows. IF SO – you are a boss. I really think that’s all that will make YOU, as the bride, feel your best!! Regardless, I wanted to share with you my wedding preparation journey in case you need a little help planning things 🙂
SIX MONTHS BEFORE
EMS Fitness: After months of stressful eating and drinking in quarantine, the first thing I did to “prepare” for my wedding was to exercise more out of habit. I had two weeks in quarantine where I held my fitness class outside, but that didn’t last (hard when the couch was right there- can you feel it?). So it’s about time. The thing is for me, I have a bad back – so for me to really work out, I really have to practice…practice. Ya know? My friend, who has a great body, has been constantly posting about this exercise called EMS FITNESS. I asked her about & she said she has a great coach in San Diego.
Her name is Amy Minnick and her show is called “Fire Snake Fitness” using EMS technology. In a nutshell, you’re connected to a machine that stimulates your muscles and you work out when connected. It enhances your fitness, so 20 minutes of cardio or strength training is equivalent to 3 hours of cardio or strength training. I’m off, so once a week it’s cardio and then once a week it’s strength training. I quickly saw amazing results and it was amazing because it helped me quickly build core strength to support my back.
Prolon Cleanse: three months before the wedding, I did the first time Prolon cleaning. This is a 5-day cleanse that basically mimics the idea of intermittent fasting and is also a really good reset for your cells. I found it pretty easy and it works. I feel great… and I lost 7 pounds in 5 days! I really love food and hate depriving myself, but cleaning up the Prolon is relatively easy! You get a mix of tea, soup (they start in powder form), tasty bars, olives, kale crackers, and chocolate crisps for dessert.
Full body lymphatic drainage massage: Shortly before my bachelor partyI participated in the program 6 times full body lymphatic drainage + weight loss massage with Anne at Elevate Your Body Spa here in San Diego. My treatment included radiofrequency lymphatic drainage, laser lipo (I lay on a blanket of red light to burn fat) and manual weight loss massage. It’s pretty wild, she really does magic and water weight massage! I like it.
Prolon Cleanse: A second Prolon cleaning before Bachelorette weekend – they recommend doing it once a month for 3 consecutive months for full results!
BEFORE 1 MONTH
Melissa Wood Health Workouts: I wish I had started this earlier, but I only know about Melissa Wood Health’s exercises on my Bachelorette and start when I get home (after I recover from a hangover, lol). I love her exercises – they’re short, effective, easy, and you definitely feel the burn. I aim 2-3 times a week in addition to my EMS workouts.
Tooth whitening: I have set up the dental hygienist and made sure they have added a teeth whitener. I have very sensitive teeth so I wanted to do this a month before my teeth could recover, but two weeks would probably be more ideal! I continue to whiten my teeth at home using Lumineux teeth whitening strips– they are my favorite because they are effective and safe for sensitive teeth. I use these once or twice a week before the big day 🙂
3 WEEKS BEFORE
Botox / Fillers: I made an appointment for Botox and lip fillers three weeks ago. I decided at my appointment I also wanted to do some fillers in the jawline, cheeks and under the eyes as well as Botox in the forehead. I shot a very detailed vlog with all the details of exactly what I did, which will be live streamed after the wedding because I’m just too stressed to do it right now lol…. but subscribe to my YouTube here so you can be notified when it’s over!
Please note, if you are new to Botox and/or fillers, make your appointment a month early.
Colonies: I reached out to another girlfriend who knows all the “good tips” when it comes to getting in the best shape for your wedding and she said I had to try color dye. I did, and I ordered two more before the wedding (once a week for three weeks!). It was a wild experience, but I have to say – I felt great afterwards. I will definitely maintain these once a month after the wedding. Read about my colon experience here.
BEFORE 1 WEEK
Eyebrow: I like to do my brows a little bit in advance because I color them and they’re usually pretty dark at first – I think a week should be enough time for the brows to fade to the perfect color. I also waxed and thinned my eyebrows. I am INTERESTED with eyebrow thinning. It gives your brows a soft look and lasts about 5 weeks. No need to brush your eyebrows anymore.
Hair: I have a hair appointment this Friday and we will do a vitamin C treatment to clear all build up, a gloss treatment to add shine (it has a bit of color so it will even out my hair color! ), and then an additional deep conditioning treatment.
Prolon Cleanse: my last Prolon cleaning happening as we speak! Again, love this wash. It’s pretty easy (3rd day isn’t great, but bearable) and it just works.
3-5 DAYS BEFORE
Nail: I would do a manicure/toe two days before that, because I really don’t want to scratch my toe. As for my nails – definitely gel polish. I need that set of nails to last a solid 5 days!
Spray Tan: & not just any melt spray!! For your wedding, please try to avoid spray tan booths and go to a custom melt airbrush artist. We discussed my wedding tan, we won’t tan like I usually do on vacation, don’t want to do too much in a striking white wedding dress, looking more for a medium light beautiful (and i always have her squirt at the illusion of abs, it’s awesome lol)
Face: I just had my facial done (6 days before the wedding – just because my girl was booked further, I thought 3 days would be ideal!) And I received a HydraFacial with overlays. out skin. HydraFacials is JAM and does wonders at plumping & moisturizing your skin & the top coat is amazing to create a really smooth surface for your big day makeup .
