A New Orleans police officer was shot during an armed robbery in Mid-City on Thursday night. According to police, Officer Louis Blackmon was the victim of an armed robbery on the 300th block of North Rendon Street at about 10:35 p.m. The suspect pulled a gun on this officer, demanding his property. according to new information released by NOPD. Police say a struggle ensued, which resulted in the officer being shot in the stomach. Blackmon is a four-year veteran serving in District Four.
