No, that’s not a typo. It was a fact no one expected a month ago. After defeating the Green Bay Packers, 27-10, the Jets improved to 4-2. Not only did they defeat Green Bay, but they also dominated Aaron Rodgers and the Packers at Lambeau Field. It’s weird to talk about Jets at the end of this season without attaching a funny joke or meme to the conversation.
Robert Saleh’s Jets is on a three-game winning streak when they don’t allow more than 20 points in a game. They are doing it the old fashioned way by running the ball and letting their defence take the lead. Against the Packers, rookie Breece Hall plunged in a career-high 116-foot hit and a touchdown.
Second-year QB Zach Wilson is becoming one of the better game managers in the league, when he’s 10 out of-18 for 110 yards through. The most important stat is no interception, as the Jet is putting Wilson in a position to succeed and not likely to throw the game away. Since Wilson’s return from injury in Week 4, the Jets are leading 3-0. Their offensive game plan may not be the most exciting, but when you win, the fans can’t care less if their QB throws in 300 yards or 100. The Jets haven’t had a 4-2 start since Todd Bowles took over the team in 2015. It was the Jets’ only winning season since 2011.
Times can change by the way things look under Saleh’s leadership. For most people, Jets have been bad all their lives. Aside from a few years of wins here and there and consecutive AFC championship games under Rex Ryan, this has been an underperforming organization for a long time.

Not many people choose Jets over Packed Planes. But they went to Green Bay and dealt with the cheese heads. Over the next few weeks, we’ll see how good these Jets can be as they face the Broncos, Patriots, and Bills. Buffalo will be the big test for New York and an accurate gauge of how far this team can go, whether they win or lose.
It feels quite different and almost surreal, but the first-time Jets are still good. I wouldn’t choose them to do anything crazy like winning the Super Bowl, but winning nine or 10 games would be a great start for Saleh in his efforts to build his future.
