Nintendo Switch Sports Online Play and Save Data Backup are currently shutting down
After a bug was found in the Ver1.2.1 update, Nintendo has released Nintendo Switch Sports the server is offline while it works to fix the problem. This means that both online play and data backup are currently down.
Nintendo shared the update on Twitter, says the bug has caused the game to close in the pre-match loading screen for some players.
“A bug was found in the #NintendoSwitchSports Ver1.2.1 update that caused the software to close during the pre-match loading screen,” Nintendo wrote. “Unfortunately, this is affecting both online and offline modes. As a result, we have temporarily suspended the rollout of this update.
“While we investigate to find a solution, #NintendoSwitchSports servers will be offline and online play will not be available for the time being. Data backup is also temporary. temporarily suspended. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.”
No timetable has been given for the fix yet, but we will update this story as soon as an update becomes available.
In ours Nintendo Switch Sports Review, we said it “successfully recaptured the party game magic of Wii Sports, but quickly fell victim to a lack of depth that prevented it from achieving greatness.”
That lack of depth will be resolved during this holiday when Golf comes to Nintendo Switch Sports as a free update. Golf mode will include 21 holes from the original Wii Sports series along with a new Survival Golf game mode. The update was originally set to arrive this fall, but was delayed a bit.
