No change in US policy on Palestinian consulate in Jerusalem, spokesman says
US President Joe Biden is in Israel on an official visit
JERUSALEM: White House spokesman John Kirby said National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan erred on Wednesday when he told reporters the United States desired a Palestinian consulate in East Jerusalem.
Kirby said there has been no change in US policy regarding consulates.
The United States wants to reopen its consulate to Palestinians in Jerusalem, located west of the city, which was closed by former US President Donald Trump in 2019.
