Notting Hill Carnival death: Teenager arrested after handing himself in over Takayo Nembhard’s killing | UK News
A teenager has turned himself in to police after a rapper was stabbed to death at the Notting Hill Carnival.
The 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murdering Takayo Nembhard, also known as TKorStretch.
Mr Nembhard, from Bristol, died in hospital.
The 21-year-old rapper was stabbed in the groin under the Westway overpass in Ladbroke Grove on August 29 when there were hundreds of people in the area.
He was at the carnival with his sister and friends.
His partner, Oshian Edwards, who was pregnant with the couple’s child, posted on social media after his death that he was “the most kind, loving, funny and caring person”.
She wrote on Instagram: “I sit here with aching eyes and a heavy heart because I have cried non-stop for the past 12 hours holding your unborn son.
“I will remind him daily how wonderful you are as a son, a brother, a boyfriend and a friend!”
Police are still trying to track down another person whose image was captured on CCTV.
Detective Inspector Laura Semple, from the Metropolitan Police, said: “Do you know who this person is? He was caught by CCTV at the Carnival and we still urgently need to track him down. .
“If you can help or have any information – no matter how minor – about Takayo’s murder, please go ahead.”
Four others had previously been arrested in October in connection with the murders.
A 23-year-old man, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old man were arrested in Bristol on suspicion of murder; while a 20-year-old woman was arrested in Islington in London on suspicion of assisting an offender.
They were all released on bail pending further investigation or released while they were being investigated.
